Instead of separating art from life, we create programmes where students experience creativity through materials, nature, observation and direct practice.
Set between the Tuscan hills, forests and sculpture traditions of Pietrasanta and Carrara, Tuscany Stone & Soul Lab offers immersive educational experiences that combine artistic learning, personal expression and cultural discovery.
Led by sculptor Lorenzo Vignoli and educator Ilaria De Marchi, the programmes integrate marble, clay, drawing, landscape, perception and collaborative creative processes.

Programmes for international schools
We offer hands-on programmes where students engage directly with materials, landscape and artistic practice, developing both technical skills and personal expression.
Language: Programmes can be held in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish or Italian, with translation and cultural mediation available if needed.
Art-based and drawing sessions can be integrated into the programme.
Marble Workshops
– Introduction to marble carving: tools, techniques and direct work with the material.
– For longer stays: creation of a small piece.
Clay Workshops
– Clay modelling: from basic techniques to finished pieces, with possible kiln firing depending on timing.
Cultural visits (optional)
– Pietrasanta: city of sculpture, ateliers and art galleries.
– Carrara: historic marble quarries and culture.
Accommodation & Facilities
– Small groups: on-site or nearby lodging options
– Larger groups: support in finding suitable accommodation
– Activities take place between Tuscany Stone Lab (marble) and EMAHOLAB (ceramics, kilns, accommodation)
Partnership
– EMAHOLAB (www.emaholab.it): large clay studio with kilns and beds.
Combined format (example 6–8 days)
– 3/4 days – Clay & firing @ EMAHOLAB: modelling, glazes/engobes, firings.
– 3/4 days – Marble & Painting @ Tuscany Stone Lab: intro to marble sculpture, plein air painting.
Painting can take place at both venues. Optional closing with a small exhibition/display.

Group Size & Ages
11 to 28 y.o.: 5-8 students for a single project; for bigger numbers we propose to share them in sub-groups having so different options.
1/2 chaperones per class recommended (free during activities).
Logistics & Accommodation
Outdoor and indoor spaces; picnic areas available. Accommodation available for small groups; for larger groups we share activities and help find facilities.
Swimming pool (seasonal): access only under teacher/tutor/chaperone supervision.
Costs & Notes
Activities are tailored to the age group; any adaptations are agreed with teachers. Quotes on demand based on: duration, number of students, materials, any visits and accommodation.
